STATUTE LAW REVISION ACT - 1963 (ACT 215)

    • The enactments specified in the First Schedule to this Act (which enactments have become obsolete, spent or unnecessary) are hereby repealed.

    • (1) The share of the Government of Ghana in relation to any assets, liabilities or any property which, immediately before the coming into operation of this Act, were vested in any institute or council established by or under any of the repealed enactments specified in paragraph 1 of the First Schedule to this Act shall vest in the Ghana Academy of Sciences established by the Ghana Academy of Sciences Instrument, 1963 (E.I. 5).

      (2) Subject to such directions as may be given by the President-

      (a) all employees of any such institute or council shall, after the coming into operation of this Act, continue as employees of the Ghana Academy of Sciences so far as this may be practicable; and

      (b) every contract subsisting between such institute or council and any other person immediately before the coming into operation of this Act shall be deemed to subsist between the Ghana Academy of Sciences and any such person.

      (3) The provisions of this section shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of January, 1963.

    • Any moneys which, immediately before the coming into operation of this Act, remained in the trust fund established by the Agricultural and Horticultural Trust Fund Ordinance (Cap. 161) shall be transferred to the Consolidated Fund and shall form part of it.

    • Notwithstanding the repeal of the Administration (Ashanti) Ordinance (Cap. 110) and the Administration (Northern Territories) Ordinance (Cap. 111), any statutory instrument made under either of the said Ordinances and in force immediately before the commencement of this Act shall continue in force as if made under the corresponding provision of either of the enactments specified in the Second Schedule to this Act.
